Bullet-train initiative —- Even though it may not directly concern Bangalore, if the government so wishes, it could initiate a bullet-train service to Mysore (say an hour’s journey). This would provide the much needed relief to Bangalore and at the same time pave the way to great development in Mysore.

- from a Deccan Herald write-up on CDP for Bangalore, by Syed Mohd Beary, a concerned citizen and developer.

Not a bad Idea.. Bullet Train to Mysore.. WOW!!.. the best thing that could happen.. but I think this idea should be made to rest even before it is born!

Everybody hoped that the road connectivity would be ready in time with Dasara Celebrations.. unfortunate, that it got delayed..

In two years hopefully, the mandakali airport would be functional .. but still not sure, what other hurdles the authorities might face while implementing that.. if anyone thinks ahead.. a string of questions like the following arise...

How many aircrafts would the Mysore Airport accommodate in a day?.. How many passengers would be utilizing this facility? Would it be beneficial to Mysore Development? If yes, in what way? What would be the cost of setting up and maintaining such an airport?

Assuming that each air plane ferries around 50 people, and there are 4 flights from Bangalore to Mysore and back.. Would that 200 odd people increase Mysore Tourism?

Reducing the travel time between Mysore and Bangalore will surely have its advantages and disadvantages...

According to me the advantages would be:

Reduced travel time, more inflow of people from different parts of the country, economic growth, Mysore will be the second option for investments and a lot more..

the disadvantages would be:

more vehicular movement between the cities mean more accidents, more people coming and settling in Mysore city.. thus skyrocketing prices, no proper accommodation facilities in Mysore City, and a lot more ...

Everyone keeps telling that Mysore City should not go the Bangalore Way.. I am not sure what they mean by that statement.. What has gone wrong in Bangalore or What is happening to Bangalore?

Other statement I hear is that "Mysore is not happening".. Again I am not sure what they mean by that!!

For anything to happen, someone has to do something.. But what is the question?? What can someone explain?
