We seem to have quite a few similar ideas. Well, something of the kind you have mentioned has been in the offing for about two months. Reason for the delay: it is Mysore. We will perhaps welcome you back with its implementation.

Do you think they are the types that would  endorse the mission statement ?  

How about sharing with us whatever details you can about this site in you incubator, Mr Rao.  

Thank you, Satya, for the update. I badly wanted to meet Kheny, not just attend his lecture. I was preoccupied, so couldn't make it. I like the man's resilience. The bloody system sucks, doesn't it?

 

Well put, Mr Gouri Satya. Mr Kheney's resolve needs to be strengthened with expression of support and solidarity. The least we can do is let him know through this blog that many, many more people,besides Mr Satya and Mr Rao, are with him in his fight against an obstructive system. Would anyone know his e-mail ID so that we can fwd. this interaction ?      

I have also heard about Khenny and his honesty. I wish I was in Mysore to listen to his talk.

If we can get his email ID, we can collectively and individually admire his fight against corrupt system.

Regarding GVK's idea of getting Mysoreans involved in civic problems through the medium of internet, I have to state the obvious that it is a non starter. First there is a problem of few having the internet connection. And of those who have it, 90% are likely to be "busy" to worry about the civic problems.

What we need is a strong team of dedicated and concerned citizens who can go around the colleges to talk to students on the need to get involved. Unless we inculcate social responsibility from the young age itself, we cannot do it at later age.

We from Builders Association of India,Mysore centre (BAI) arranged this very interesting presentation on BMICP.Hats off to Mr.Khenny for keeping his pet project alive for eleven years.I know him personally and spent almost 45 min with him in his hotel room.He mentioned the kind of harassment he went through all these years.I felt pity for him  when he said that all he got from this project is BP & diabetes.I always belived that were there is WILL there is always a WAY.Mr.Khenny proved this my holding to his mega venture.I have personally experienced harassment from our Politician’s & bureaucratics.I can imagin the kind of pain he went through all these years.From his presentation and personal dicuession i had with him when he was in Mysore, i felt that other then money making, he had a strong liking for Mysore.He loved Mysore more then us.He kept his company name NANDI derived from Nandi sitting on chamundi hills.He had almost brought WaltDisny to Mysore, but we lost them to other country.thanks for our commitiment and interest we have in making our city destination for IT & TOURISM.Those who heard his presentation, i am sure they din't sleep whole night.At least me i could not sleep and went on recalling his presentaion.he is a true Entrepreneur.

Though there were few persons who openly expressed there opinion of the adverse effect of this express highway, my answer to them is,  Irrespective of this mega project, we still have to bear with so many problems and we have to find a solution for them.let us not Criticize the project.every project will have soome kind of bad effect on us. In my opinion, this express way will change our life for better,it will bring every thing closer to us.Our children need not go out of our country to get job.there may not be brain drain in our country as more MNC will have there development center in Mysore.Parents can see there children in front of them every day. no more worry of loosing there children any more.we have only heard or seen the pictures of Monorail and Highways in abroad, but BMICP will make us to see and exprience them ourself in few years.Let all of us join and support these kinds of developments. I am sure most of my friends like GVK,Shankar & Rao will agree with me.

Watch out for more presentations from BAI in Mysore from now on.We are trying to get B'Lore Int Airport Authority and also our own airport authority to give a detail presentation.All are welcome.

I was happy to learn from Star of Mysore, how Mr. Kheny has resisted the temptation of giving bribes to facilitate the smooth implementation of NICE project. This requires real concern and high ethical standards which most of our leaders either in political or other fields lack today.

I do not agree with the highway project promoted by NICE. But that does not prevent me from appreciating the principled stand Kheny has taken. Also I appreciated the judgment of the Supreme Court favoring NICE. Once the contract is signed, the government has to stand by it if there was no corruption involved. I find fault with our political system for having thought of this project and not so much with NICE. If it was NICE, some other company with no ethical standards would have taken it up and we would have been cheated twice. It is for this reason I admire a person like Kheny who is not prepared to compromise on ethical principles. Another Indian company that I know which has paid for such ethical principles is Larsen & Toubro.

I wish Kheny's leadership all the success and hope to meet him when he visits Mysore again. Incidentally I am involved in "Save Mysore" campaign.

I wish Dr Shenoy had made a mention of Mymysore contribution as well. Spreading awareness about this site could help us empower ourselves. We can spread the word in a million small ways. Dr Shenoy is well aware I rarely miss a chance to brag about online civic endeavour.
