Member of the heritage committee and social activist Maj.Gen. S G Vombatkere (retd.) would like to see transparancy in discussions on matters of civic concern. He stresses the need for an open forum at which representatives of the city corporation, MATF, MGP and other interest groups could interact on a specified civic issue. Such issue-specific meetings can become an on-going process. In a letter to 'The Hindu' he suggests that such discussions could be broadcast by local channels.
