Rotary Mysore South East is organising a job fair for freshers, and also retired folk who wish to work, in small industrial units, trading concerns and the service sector. Career Expo - 2005 will be held this weekend (June 4-5) at Nanjaraj Bahadur Choultry, 10 a m to 8.p m Entry - Rs.25



Job seekers would do well to bring along several copies of their resumes, certificates, and passport-size photos, says the Rotary director of vocational services G V Pinto. The Career Expo is being organised as part of the club's Centenary vocational service project. Says the club president Sudha Murthy, "Rotary believes in providing the hungry with fishing gear, rather than fish for a meal".

The two-day ticketed Career Expo attracted 2,500 job aspirants for placements in 23 participant companies. Over 500 received job offers and 70 candidates returned home with appointment orders, according to Expo chairman G V Pinto. Among the recruiters was a Bangalore-based placements agency seeking candidates for jobs in call centres and BPO companies. Rotary South East, which organised the job fair, plans to open a data bank from which prospective employers can, in the future, get details of job aspirants registered with the Rotaty Club expo section..
