The Mysore -Bangalore, Chamundi Express leaving Mysore at 6:45 A.M. is a very convenient morning train for those who work in Bangalore. The train is invariably full with people who have to report to work by a stipulated time, salesmen who should be out on the market as soon as they reach Bangalore etc. I understand more than 3000 people get in to the train at Chennapatna and Ramanagaram . Hence ,it is essential this train reaches Bangalore at the right time, as far as possible.
But what really happens is, this train is held up for 'Crossing' at 2 to 3 places, to make way for trains coming from Tirupathi and Tuticorin, to name only a two. This is ridiculous as almost all of them are forced to reach their work places late for no fault of theirs.Passengers coming from Thirupathi ( 'Bodu thaleyavaru'!) can reach Mysore little bit late,so also passengers from other trains. Why should Chamundi ,almost always is held up and preference is given to incoming trains coming towards Mysore.
It is possible all these problems will get sorted out when the second line between Bangalore and Mysore comes up in 2050 / 3000 A.D.!But those who are supposed to be taking care of Mysorean's interest- Our M.P. Mr. Vijay Shankar, District in-charge Minister Mr. Jayakumar should sort this out first.
Those who have taken any train towards Mumbai would have noticed that the Local Trains are given PREFERENCE always over all other incoming trains there. 'Dhadhe pe Teekh time per pahunchna hai' is a saying practised by every Mumbaikar. Mumbai believes in taking people to work in time. That culture seems to be absent here. With the result thousands wait for'Crosing' everyday.
As somebody was saying, these things are decided in Chennai the Hq. of Southern Railways. Surely our bigwigs can get together, pull their weight and rectify this anomaly.
Those who have experienced the delay of waiting and the helpness can suggest what could be done to correct this.
of late, chamundi express has had a delayed arrival at bangalore city atleast by 30 minutes on a daily basis.
i have no clue whom to approach to redress this issue, along with the tippu express, being a superfast train runs late by an hour on many days of the week.
if the twice weekly jaipur express is given leeway over the daily tippu & chennai exp given preference over chamunbdi, i have no words for the anomaly towards local poipulace by the railways.
